Rogue Enterprises, Public Safety Training is now offering three American Heart Association classes at SECA: CPR Training, HeartSaver First Aid Training (which is ideal for those with little to no medical training) and Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider.

Participants can complete any of the classes in single day and can chose from dates in October, December or January. Keep reading for more details on all three classes.


This instructor-led course is designed to prepare students to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely and effective manner


COST: $50

DATE:  Jan. 9 from 6 to 10 p.m.


This covers the basics of First Aid, consisting of the most common life-threatening emergencies, how to recognize them, how to call for help and how to perform lifesaving skills. The most important goal of this course is to teach students how to act in an emergency.

WHO SHOUD TAKE THIS COURSE? HeartSaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion for job, regulatory (e.g. OSHA) or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

COURSE COVERS: First Aid Basics (duties, roles and responsibilities of First Aid rescuers, key steps of First Aid); Medical emergencies (breaking, choking, allergic reaction, heart attack, stroke and more); Injury emergencies (external and internal bleeding, wounds, sprain, broken bones, burns and more); Environmental Emergencies (bites, stings, cold and heat-related emergencies, poisonings and more); and preventing illness and injury.

COURSE DELIVERY: HeartSaver classroom courses feature group interaction and hands-on coaching and feedback from an AHA instructor

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?: Healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.


  • New science and educational from the 2015 AHA Guidelines Updates for CPR AND ECC
  • The components of high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival for prehospital and in-facility providers
  • Important early use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants.

COURSE DELIVERY: Instructors deliver both the knowledge portion of training and hands-on component of skills practice and testing in a classroom setting

COURSE LENGTH:  4 hours/3 hr renewal

COST: $75 per person/$50 renewal

DATE:  Jan. 22

The full course runs from 1 to 5 p.m.

Those who just need the renewal course would be there from 6 to 9 p.m.
