Our Director

Rick Kerns become director at SECA in the Spring of 2019.  He is a graduate of York college with a degree in Sports Management and minor in Human Resource Management.  Rick spent the first decade of his career working with children's recreational programs.  Rick came to SECA from The Hotel Hershey, where he spent four years as director of recreation.  He has brought many new ideas to SECA.  His networking with local businesses and non-profits have helped to strengthen our community.  His creative, out-of-the box thinking allowed him to plan and organize novel programs and events while considering the health, wellness and safety of all during these unprecedented times.  He is an avid runner and can be easily recognized as the tall, bearded gentleman, wearing shorts, year round, at SECA!  Rick and his wife reside in York county with their three young children.

SECA Spot-light:

We would like to recognize our Board President, Barb Tollinger!

Barb is a lifetime resident of southern Lancaster county.  A 1968 Solanco graduate, she and her husband of 42 years, Leo, have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.  Barb owned and taught the Southern Belles Majorette Corps and retired with over 50 years of twirling!  She also served as Quarryville Borough Secretary-Treasurer for 25 years. In June, she will retire from Normandeau Associates with 48 years of service as a Project Administrator.

After hearing rumors of SECA's plans for the swimming pool-(remodel, sell or tear down), Barb decided to inquire about what she could do to help save the pool that she has so many fond childhood memories of.  Since spring of 2016, Barb has served as Board Member, Vice President and now she is beginning her second year as President.

Being the president of a non-profit organization is not an easy chair position.  It's a tedious job with much to do, lots of time spent, hard decisions to be made, work to be done... never a dull moment! Yet Barb tirelessly serves with much love for our community.  She tells us that she is awfully glad to have been given the opportunity to serve on this board, this community and the Association.  She is a huge supporter and one of our biggest cheerleaders!

Thank you, Barb!
