Congrats to the Tice Family who kicked/paddled their creation — “Shark Bait” — to victory during SECA’s first ever Boatyard Wars.

And kudos to the Randall Family, who entered a fabulous, water-tight creation that could easily sail The Susquehanna!

Props also to our Lifeguards and Front Desk staff who got in on the fun, too.  Start thinking of your designs for next year. We’re definitely going to do this again!

P.S. We’ve got videos on our Facebook page if you want to check those out!

P.P.S. Thanks to the Solanco Chronicle for the coverage! Find that here.

P.P.P.S. Sorry our speakers didn’t want to cooperate with a laptop during the event. Maybe next year we’ll actually get to PLAY the mix we made featuring songs about boats/mentioning boats. Meantime, if for any reason you wanted to listen to 1 hour and 45 minutes worth of boat songs, you could always download the following. Consider it inspiration music for building next year’s entry!

Boats to Build – Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet
Sloop John B – Beach Boys
Boat Drinks – Jimmy Buffet
Rock the Boat – The Hues Corp.
Where the Boat Leaves from – Zak Brown Band
Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat – Sammy Davis Jr.
Pontoon – Little Big Town
Gilligan’s Island
come Sail Away – Styx
Redneck Yacht club –  Craig Morgan
30 seconds of My Heart Will Go on Titanic version
30 seconds of ‘I’m on a Boat’ (Warning: The reason we were only going to play 30 seconds worth? The rest of the song is definitely NOT child friendly.)
Irish Rover – Dubliners
Fight Song – Rachel Platten (“Like a small boat, on the ocean …”)
Boy and a Girl in a Little Canoe
Southern Cross – Crosby Stills & Nash
Banana Boat Song – Harry Belefonte
Downeaster Alexa – Billy Joel (Depressing? Maybe. But it’s less than 4 minutes. We DID refrain from adding the 7-minute classic The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald as that is not exactly upbeat swim music 😉 )
You’re Welcome – Moana soundtrack (”Cause I’m gonna need this boat.”)
Knee Deep – Zak Brown Band w/Jimmy Buffet
Beyond the Sea – Robbi Brown from Finding Nemo
Come on Down to My Boat Baby – Some one-hit-wonder from the ’60s
When the Ship Comes In – Bob Dylan
Sea Cruise – Frankie Ford
Everybody Come Aboard – Elvis
Boats -Kenney Chesney
Row Row Row Your Boat
Five o’clock somewhere – Jimmy Buffet and Alan Jackson
Into the Mystic – Van Morrison
The Love Boat
Buy Me a Boat  –  Chris Janson
